Academician Rafayel Ghazaryan can't forgive Robert Kocharyan after the elections. "Kocharyan deprived me of the pleasure for congratulating a president, really elected in fear elections" , he says.
Regarding Kocharyan as a non-legitimate president, Mr Ghazaryan thinks we have no president in the country.
Rafayel Ghazaryan doesn't understand why Kocharyan chose the dictatorship way, becoming the president. "He had to punish criminals, fight against corruption, be occupied with improvement of social state in the country, set jobs. But he chose another way. Kocharyan destroyed the state system, overrode court and legal system, split parties, suppressed Mass Media" .
Talking about the electorate of Kocharyan, Mr Ghazaryan states the people having committed outrages by force in favour of him and become either scoundrels, or bribe-takers, will never forgive Kocharyan.
As to rallies, Ghazaryan is surprised at Kocharyan to consider them as illegal actions. "We used to take part in the rallies and meetings in 1988-1989 together with Kocharyan. So why the same action turned to be illegal?" .
Academician commented on Kocharyan's post-election policy. "Naturally, he will resort to violence to bend the people who didn't elect him, to his will. Kocharyan hopes the people to calm down after rallies like in 1996. But he is mistaken" .
He advised Kocharyan not to rely on the circumstance that the presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be more unjust and he will gain a more profitable status comparing with Aliev.
"Our people were humiliated, insulted after elections. I'm sorry for that it might have been the last choice of mine" , he added.
